How to Use a Prefilled Pod Kit: The Beginner’s Guide to Big Puff Vaping

Because they use a clever 10ml integrated reservoir system to deliver thousands of puffs, they often require a specific "activation" step before you can start vaping. Miss this, and you might get a dry hit or think your device isn't working.

This guide will walk you through exactly how to set up your new kit, prime the pod correctly, and keep it running smoothly for the long haul. 

With older, standard prefilled pods, you could usually just plug them in and vape. However, the new generation of high-capacity "Big Puff" kits works differently. To keep the e-liquid fresh and TPD-compliant, the liquid is often stored separately from the coil until you are ready to use it. 

Remove the Seals: Take the device and the pod/reservoir unit out of the packaging. Remove any stickers or silicone bungs from the base of the pod and 10ml refill container.

Connect the Reservoir: Insert the 10ml refill container into the device or pod housing as per the instructions.

Wait 60 Seconds: Do not vape immediately! Let the device stand upright for at least a minute. This allows the e-liquid to soak into the cotton wick (priming). If you vape too soon, you risk burning the dry cotton, which will ruin the pod instantly.

Note: Different brands like Avomi or others may have slightly different locking mechanisms, so always check the user manual inside the box.

If you inhale and get no vapour, check these common issues:

Sticker on the Base: Did you remove the small plastic sticker from the bottom of the pod? This blocks the electrical connection and is the #1 reason for new pods not firing.

Activation: Did you firmly click/push the reservoir into place? If the seal isn't broken, liquid can't reach the coil.

Battery: Is the device charged? Check the LED indicator.
